PET/CT Scan

The Nebraska Advanced Radiology offers multiple kinds of PET/CT Scans, including the NaF (Sodium Fluoride) Bone Scan and the 18F-FDG PET/CT Scan.
In 2012, the Nebraska Advanced Radiology received PET Accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). Receiving IAC Accreditation is granted only to the facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.
Early detection of life-threatening heart disorders and other diseases is possible through the use of PET procedures performed within hospitals, outpatient centers, and physicians’ offices. While these tests are helpful, there are many facets that contribute to an accurate diagnosis based on PET testing.
The skill of the technologist performing the examination, the type of equipment used, the background and knowledge of the interpreting physician and quality assurance measures are each critical of quality patient testing.
